The same unit name, such as Bigha, Katha or Kanal, can mean a different area in different states, districts and settlement records. A result is only as correct as the local measure you choose. The site does not decide which scale your land record uses.

Before you buy, sell, register, divide, mortgage or dispute land, confirm the area and the measurement scale with your land record (for example the registry, Jamabandi or Record of Rights) and with the local revenue office, such as the Patwari, the Tehsil office or the sub-registrar.
